Catalogue of Books and Thesis

Hindi Department library established in 1971 is one of the oldest and biggest language library in the Calicut University Campus. The Hindi Department Library is one of the best libraries in the Calicut University campus with 27324 books with 15400 titles, 129 Ph.D thesis, 358 MA and 129 M.Phil dissertations. As it is considered to be a literature library, it occupies collection of all subject books in hindi language.  It is one of the oldest libraries with a rare collection in the Hindi language.

Collection:-

The Library maintains a variety of collections such as 26794 books with 15000 titles . Thesis, MA & M.Phil Dissertations. The reference section of the library contains Encyclopeadias, Dictionaries, Thesises and Dissertations.

Arrangement:-

Books are arranged according to poetrics, Drama, Fiction, Bhasha Sahityam, Vyakaranam, Bhaktha Kavyam, Literacy criticicsms etc.  Books of famous authors are grouped into a shelf. Books are partially classified according to DDC(Deway Decimal Classification) . Open access facility is provided in the library to help the readers, browse the stack and select the books of the choice.

Membership:

Library provides membership to the students of MA Hindi Literature, MA Functional Hindi & Translation, PG Diploma in Translation and Secretarial Practice, M.Phil, Ph.D, other Research scholars and Teachers of the Hindi Department. Also reference facility is provided to all the persons who approach us for the use of books with the permisson of the head of the department.

The Library is Partially digitalised using KOHA software . OPAC facility is provided to all the users.
